III) GRAMMAR
SOME - ANY
01. In general we use some (somebody/someone/something) in positive sentences and any (anybody/anyone/anything) in negative sentences.
some
- He bought some books.
- There is somebody at the door.
any
- I didn't buy any fruit.
- There isn't anybody at the door.
02. in most questions we use any
- Do you have any money?
03. but we use some in questions when we expect the answer to be 'yes.'
- What's wrong? Do you have something in your eye?
