A FRIEND OF MINE
- We say: 'a friend of mine', 'a friend of yours', 'a friend of his', a friend of hers', 'a friend of ours.'
Examples:
01. I'm going to a wedding next Saturday. A friend of mine is getting married.
02. We went to a trip with some friends of ours.
03. That boy is a good friend of hers.

- In the same way we say 'a friend of Tom's' , 'a friend of my sister's.'
Examples:
01. She has been a friend of Tom's for years.
02. That girl is a friend of my sister's.
