OBAMA AWARDED
The President of the United States, Barack Obama, is the 2009 winner of the Peace Nobel Prize for extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples. The decision appeared to catch observers by surprise.
President Obama said that he was surprised and deeply humbled. The Nobel Committee recognized Obama's effort at dialogue to solve complex global problems, including working toward a world free of nuclear weapons.
AL CAPONE
Al Capone, the legend of bootlegging, gangland slayings and tax evasion, was Chicago's most notorious organized crime boss from 1925 to 1931, during the Prohibition era.
One of his hideouts at that time was a house of his property in Couderay, Wisconsin. Much later, the house was purchased by a family that transformed it into a tourist spot. But, now, with the world's financial crisis, the house will be auctioned because of a foreclosure.
Al Capone was arrested and convicted of tax evasion in 1931 and sent to Alcatraz prison in California, but his legend lives on!
